Clonanny Racing Club brings together 100 owners to assemble and race a string of 15–20 yearlings, in partnership with trainer Kieran Cotter. One payment of €10,000 — every cost covered, across two full seasons.
The fund raised by the club — 100 shares at €10,000 — is used to acquire a carefully selected string of 15 to 20 yearlings. A larger string is deliberate: it spreads the risk across many horses and widens the odds of finding a genuinely good one, rather than staking everything on a single purchase.
Kieran selects and trains the string, races it competitively across two seasons, and trades horses on as opportunities arise. As an owner you hold an equal share of the entire string — every horse, every race day, every result.
Every share is an equal slice of the whole club. If fewer than 100 shares are taken, each share is simply a bigger slice — of every horse we own.
If the club raises €500,000, your 1 share makes you a 2.0% owner of every horse in a string of 7–10 yearlings.
Illustrative only. String size assumes roughly €50,000–€65,000 per horse all-in (purchase plus two seasons of every cost); the final number depends on the sales market. Membership is not an investment and no return is promised.
One payment, then we do the rest. No admin, no monthly bills.
€10,000 secures an equal share of the club and its entire string. Limited to 100 owners.
Kieran assembles a string of 15–20 yearlings, bought to race and to trade.
Every cost covered — you enjoy the gallops, the race days and the owners’ experience.
Prize money and sale proceeds are distributed equally among the 100 owners.
Your €10,000 covers the horses and every running cost for two full seasons.
All of it, for a single payment of €10,000.
The club trains exclusively with Kieran Cotter, whose Laois-based yard has produced a long list of winners on the Irish flat — including Group-race-winning, Royal Ascot-level talent.
His model suits the club precisely: buy well across a broad string, race competitively over two seasons, and trade on. Experienced hands on every decision that matters.
A club built to be credible — run in the owners’ interest, with nothing hidden.
The club and every owner are registered with Horse Racing Ireland, with two registered club agents.
Every owner holds a Members’ Agreement setting out exactly how the club, its money and its horses are handled.
Club funds are held in a dedicated account and used only for the string — purchases, training and racing.
Every share is identical: 1% of the club, 1% of every horse, 1% of all prize money and sale proceeds.
Membership is for the enjoyment of ownership. No return is promised; you should be comfortable you may not recover your outlay.
Standard identity and anti-money-laundering checks apply when you join — as you’d expect of a well-run club.
No. A share is for the enjoyment of racehorse ownership. Prize money and sale proceeds are uncertain and may be nil, and you should be comfortable that you may not recover the amount paid. People join for the experience.
An equal 1% share of the entire club — the full string of 15–20 yearlings — plus all training, travel, veterinary, entry and race-day costs for two seasons. There are no further bills.
A larger string spreads risk and widens the chance of finding a good horse. With one or two, a single injury or disappointment ends the season; across a string, several can run, win and be sold on.
Horses are traded on through the two seasons and any remaining are sold, with net proceeds distributed equally among the 100 owners. Many owners then join the next string.
Yes — many owners take two or three, each an additional equal stake in the string.
Kieran makes all training and racing calls; the registered club agents handle purchases, sales and administration in the owners’ interest. Full detail is in the Members’ Agreement.
